couldn't say goodbye fast enough.

yesterday, i had to get over 3 inches of my hair cut off to get rid of all my dead ends and dry hair. and believe me, it was so dry it was about to catch on fire. so i got it cut, and it's so awesome remembering how healthy hair feels. hopefully it'll actually stay like this!

i think i'm going to start do those hot oil hair treatment things. i read online that you can make it at home with stuff like olive or canola oil, you just have to heat them up. does anyone know if this works or not?

i'll have another post up later about the things i bought on my trip to the beach, but blogger wont recognize the fact that the pictures uploaded to my computer.

some old memories...

dr. martens

my doc martens finally came in the mail! i was away at the beach so i had to wait 5 extra days after they were delivered to see them and was so excited hen i finally got home to wear them. i loved the UK-style detailing on them and i tried them on... and what do you know, they're a size too small! they were a size 6 UK, which is a size 8 US. i wear a size 9. luckily, i convinced the woman to give me a full refund for mislabeling them, but i seriously loved these shoes so much.

and because i'm a cheap spender, i'm trying ebay again for ones that will actually fit!

FINALLY i'm getting my docs!

Finally, i have my doc martens! i'm so excited for them to come in the mail, i'm just hoping so hard that they look good on. i wear a size 9, so i might have the problem where shoes look like clown shoes when they're worn in such a big size. that would suck so bad!

i entered a give way contest thing (all you had to do was comment, so i thought, why not?) giving away these vintage/retro bathing suits. usually, i wouldn't wear one pieces, but these are just so cute! don't you guys think?

if i win, (which would be a long shot, since there's now 921 comments and still a week left in the give away) i would want the bathing suit all the way to the left. i also like these bathing suits, they're kind of like the bikini version of the one piece i want, here's a toned-down version of what i'm talking about:

i know here it looks over-the-top sexy, but i've seen it on other people and i thin it likes really sweet & girly. i like it in orange or lime green, or light pink or something. not really black, but it was the only good picture i could find!

mall findings

okay, remember my wish list? the one with all the cute shoes on them? well, i was hoping that i was going to locate a few of them on my trip to the mall today... and i failed, in all four actually. hot topic decided to remove all their shoes from the store near me, the perfect on sale ones, just when i decided to take advantage of them.

and like most things in forever21, even though i love the store to death, i couldn't find any of the shoes online at the store. but i'm determined to find a pair at a flea market or thrift store! i'd like that pair much better than any i found in a store.

as for the doc martens, i went to journeys just to check that a size 9 would fit me, and the only pair they had were an obnoxious, shiny, plaid pink pair. they looked like hannah montana clown shoes. you know what would suck? ordering these doc martens and having them look really bad... it would be just my luck!

so on to the actual things i bought at the mall... the first is a striped slightly oversized scoop neck shirt. the best part that it was only $3 at American Eagle! seriously, i don't even think it's possible to find a deal that good again in such an overpriced store. and the second thing is actually from target, not the mall. i'm dying my hair "light auburn" which is really just a pretty natural red. if i had it my way, i would the have hayley williams red color i found... but i have to have it my mom's way. oh well! i'll go with what i can get for now (:

some inspiring things.

the first three images are ones i created on polyvore. fourth one's there because of the floral (one of my favorite things right now), the fifth image down is of frida j., on lookbook.nu (also love her fashion sense), and the sixth is there because i really like the 60's! wish i grew up then.

wishlist

so here is my wishlist of clothes/shoes that i am hoping to obtain in the near future. tell me what you think! (also, if you know where to buy anything similar for a good price! ;)

Purple Lace-Ups from Hot Topic

Top Shelf Lace-Up Boots from Forever21

Vintage Oxfords from Forever21

Dr. Martens 8-eye Boots (i'm actually buying a pair off ebay [couldn't resist... they're only $35!] that look like this but have a oval-shaped UK flag near the top with red, white, and blue stitching instead of yellow.)

I'm also looking for a good pair of boyfriend jeans, but i'm thinking of just buying a pair and rolling them to get that kind of look. As for the last two pairs of shoes, obviously they're not actually vintage because they come new in the store. I'm going to a thrift store soon (and hopefully some flea markets) and i'm gonna try to find close-to-matching pairs. or anything else that catches my eye! does anyone know if goodwill or salvation army has any good clothing/other things? they're really the only thrift stores near my area. i'll probably be adding to this list when i see something else i've gotta have. hope everyone's having a more eventful summer than i am!

p.s. if anyone wants to check out my polyvore account, click here! also, another awesome blog about fashion is K is for Kani. she's got such a great taste in fashion, i promise her blog won't disappoint!

Plaid Shirt, camisole, and skirt all from Forever21.

Eclipse

Tonight I'm going to see Eclipse with some of my friends. You know the whole rivalry between Harry Potter and Twilight? Well, I'm on the Harry Potter side. We're making shirts to wear tonight that say "Team Potter" on them (like the one above). I love the actors, like Robert Pattison and Kristen Stewart. I think they're really great actors, but the parts they play are just so... bland and easy. Kind of ameteur. I thought Robert was amazing in Remember Me.

Anyways, which us luck among the Twilight fans!
